Local Restaurants in the Waltham Area

Aside from the dining options on campus, sometimes it can be nice to get off campus to grab a bite to eat. No matter if you have an unlimited meal plan or have no means of cooking for yourself, or if you cook for yourself every night and are looking to change things up, there are plenty of diverse options in the Waltham area for food lovers of all kinds.

As a pizza and pasta lover, one of my favorite spots is Charcoal Guido’s on Moody Street. When I’m not in the mood to order in, I love coming here whenever I can for an awesome atmosphere and even better food. It’s a fantastic place for Italian food of all sorts, and a great place to bring your Bentley family (or maybe your real family, too!).

Another great spot is Wilson’s Diner. Just a short ride from campus, this diner makes up for its small-but-cozy layout with large portions of delicious meals for breakfast and lunch. It’s a great spot for groups of 4 or less, but might be difficult to seat large parties during peak business hours on weekend mornings and early afternoons. Make sure to get there quick—seats fill up fast!

Don’t just take my word for it—hear from Bentley students themselves!

“Carl’s [Steak Subs] is one of my favorite lunch spots in Waltham. They make the best cheesesteaks I’ve ever had and they’re great to grab on-the-go. They have so many different variations while building around the original ingredients. They really take steak and cheese to a whole new level. Plus, SO flavorful.”

“A great place for breakfast and lunch is “In a Pickle” on Moody Street. It’s only open until 3pm on most days though, so get a seat while you can.

If you’re looking to watch a Pats game, a Sox game, or really any game with some friends, one of my favorite places in Waltham is Jake N Joes. They have great burgers and appetizers, and plenty of TV’s to watch any game you’re looking for.”

“Josephs Two: This place is literally a hole in the wall but they have the best breakfast food in all of Waltham. Personal favorite: the Bostonian (which is a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant with home fries) with a grilled cornbread muffin on the side.

John Brewers: I think this is a chain but it is a New-Englandy feeling sports bar with the best buffalo chicken dip in all of the land.

Copper House Tavern: This restaurant is attached to a hotel right by the highway but its soooo good, also a sports bar/ pub type vibe.

Pizzi Farm: GO HERE FOR ICE CREAM. Enough said.

Wagon Wheel: The best deli sandwiches ever- also converts to a Christmas tree farm in the winter months which is pretty fun!”

There’s no shortage of favorite restaurants in Waltham. If you’re looking to take a break from the otherwise delicious ~921~ or other Bentley dining options, Waltham has some great options for whatever cuisine you’re in the mood for!
