Greek Week 2019

Bentley’s annual beloved Greek Week was this past April x to x. This year’s week was full of events to showcase our Greek community’s talents, competiveness, and spirit. It was organized a bit differently this year as there were four teams created that mixed each of the sororities and fraternities.

This week started with Grand Chapter on Monday where all are invited to have chapter together to discuss the upcoming event’s and preface what will be coming for the following four days.

On Tuesday there was Mr. and Mrs. Greek Week which allowed a participant from each sorority and fraternity to show off their talents in front of the whole community. There were people who sang, played instruments, showed off their accent’s, and more. Each performance was impressive and left the crowd engaged and wanting more. The winners were Kappa Delta’s Gaya Mahadewi and Sigma Gamma Delta’s Dan Howard who both sang on stage for the crowd. Congrats to them for being nominated Mrs. And Mr. Greek Week!

Wednesday was Family Feud where four teams competed to win in a Jeopardy styled competition. The categories included a range of topics including Bentley and GB 112 and more. Phi Sigma Sigma and Sigma Chi ending up placing first in the jeopardy. It was a close run though!

Thursday was cardboard regatta which is a race to see which team can get a across the Bentley pool the fastest using only a certain amount of tape and cardboard. It was quite the scene to watch.

Friday ended off the week with the annual Walk A Mile event at 2 pm and then a huge event at 5 pm with a spikeball tournament, food trucks, a course relay and more. It was quite the way to end the week of Greek related activities.

Grace Goldberg, the VP of GAC reflects back on the week and the whole planning process and says “I, and all of GAC are so excited to see the success of Greek Week. We had a turnout like no other year and saw chapters unite in ways that we haven’t seen before. We are so excited to see how new traditions that have been established this year, flourish in years to come. “ Grace , VP of GAC.

Thanks for such a great week and for our amazing Greek community on campus.
