If you missed out on CAB’s Comedy Show this year, CAB Co-Chair, Michael Beaudoin (‘21), is here to give us the low-down on what went down in the arena with Nick Offerman.
As a member of CAB E-Board, Michael shares that, he is responsible for everything regarding the shows. Including planning a budget, selecting an artist, contacting a talent agent, and setting up the stage before and tearing it down after the show.
Regarding the success of the event Michael shares,
“We sold out tickets to the show and the crowd seemed to enjoy every minute of it (I know I did). He is just as funny off screen as he is on screen and I am extremely happy that we had the opportunity to bring him to Bentley this year.
Ever wonder how CAB decides on their Comedy Show star?
Michael explains,
“After getting our budget set by AIA, we contacted the talent agency that CAB uses for all of our live event productions including Spring Day and Back2Bentley. These agents gave us a list of names of comedians within our budget who were available the day we wanted to hold the event. From there, we met with our committee members and watched clips from each comedian until we came to a consensus about our top three choices. We sent these choices to our agents who sent the bids to the comedians. Nick Offerman was one of these options, and once he was able to confirm his availability, we started the process of getting contracts signed and preparing for the show!”
Upcoming CAB events in April:
Saturday, April 6th: CAB is hosting a Backyard Barbeque on the Greenspace from 2:00 – 4:00. There will be games, activities, food, giveaways, music and so much more!
Friday, April 12th: CAB will be taking students to the Red Sox game. Tickets will go on sale soon and more information will be posted in the following weeks.
Saturday, April 13th: Additionally, Fenway Bentley will be on Accepted Students Day. If you want to make a team and play some whiffle ball for some pretty cool prizes, be on the lookout for sign-up information on CAB’s social media.
