Greek Life @ Bentley Q&A VLOG

As one of SP&E’s program areas, Bentley Greek Life is a community of dedicated students striving to develop leaders, support membership and contribute to philanthropic efforts. These goals are accomplished through service, scholarship and social opportunities. We recently interviewed members about their experiences with Greek Life at Bentley and what it means to them.

WATCH:

After the interview, we learned more about their chapters philanthropy efforts…

Adam Salach (Sigma Pi):

“Philanthropy is a way to be a part of something bigger than your chapter, whether it’s a small charitable donation or a big fundraising event. It’s a way to really make a difference by putting a bunch of people together on one project, one goal, and really going after making a difference in the community.”

Amanda Greenberg (GAC and Phi Sigma Sigma):

“Greek Week is a full week of programming in April between the sororities and fraternities on campus showcasing fun competition social, spirited, money raised goes to different charities. We partner with different organizations on campus and hold events like – love your melon, walk a mile and the white ribbon campaign.”

“The Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation focuses on leadership achievement, scholarships/educational grants and helping students’ success in their education with school and college readiness. We hold events such as the Pink Tie affair, breast cancer walk and March Madness brackets.”

Stephanie Crudele (Gamma Phi Beta):

“Gamma Phi Beta’s philanthropic focus is building strong girls. The whole idea behind it is that we are strong women building strong girls and our main philanthropic partner is Girls on the Run, which is an organization for middle school girls that focuses on healthy habits and healthy body image and at the end they get to run a 5k and everyone’s a winner”

Paige Schneider (Alpha Phi):

“Alpha Phi is one of very few chapters that has their own charitable organization, The Alpha Phi Foundation. The foundation’s main purpose is to spread awareness and aid in the finding the cure for Women’s Heart Health. The foundation allows chapters to become CPR certified, have AEDs on campus, and host events to spread overall awareness. In addition, the foundation also aids in scholarship and leadership opportunities for the members of Alpha Phi.”

Ethan Reddington (Sigma Chi):

“Sigma Chi holds events to raise money for cancer research at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Last year, the brothers raised over $6000 and shaved their heads during one their biggest events of the year.”
